In this vital role, you will assist residents with daily activities, ensure their safety and comfort, and promote their independence and well-being. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates Support residents with memory care needs, including Alzheimer's and dementia care strategies Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols and document all medication activities Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers Provide compassionate support during meal preparation, feeding assistance, and hydration needs Engage residents through meaningful activities, socialization, and behavior management techniques Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to infection control procedures and cleaning protocols Respect residents' rights by promoting dignity, independence, and personalized care plans Communicate effectively with residents' families, healthcare teams, and colleagues to ensure coordinated care Experience Prior assisted living or nursing home experience preferred; experience working with individuals with cognitive disabilities or developmental disabilities is highly valued Knowledge of geriatrics, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and behavior management techniques is advantageous Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; ongoing training in safe patient lifting practices is preferred Experience operating medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other transfer devices is beneficial Familiarity with medication administration protocols within a caregiving setting is necessary Demonstrated ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform manual handling tasks effectively Previous work in home & community care or residential care homes enhances candidacy for this role Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to enriching lives through compassionate caregiving.
