Assistant Nursery Teacher Employment Status:
Part-Time Compensation:
$15.00 per hour (regular hours) and $22.50 per hour (special events) Position Overview The Nursery Worker provides loving, attentive care for children from infancy through three/four years of age. This role is ideal for someone who values sowing seeds of faith at the earliest stages of life and approaches ministry with a positive attitude, a teachable spirit, and a strong sense of dependability. Nursery Workers are expected to work well as part of a team while creating a safe, engaging, and Christ-centered environment for children. Roles & Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Providing daily care such as feeding, diapering, grooming, and maintaining schedules and routines Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe nursery environment, including cleaning toys and classrooms Monitoring children's health, behavior, and emotional well-being Encouraging age-appropriate learning and socialization (communication, manners, sharing, etc.) Engaging children through Bible stories, crafts, art, and play Teaching positive behaviors and providing guidance as needed Preparing, serving, and cleaning up snacks Preparing classrooms by organizing supplies, stocking cabinets, and assisting with inventory as needed Expectations & Requirements Attendance at monthly staff meeting via zoom Complete minimum 2 Sunday shift weekly Complete one additional shift on Tuesday mornings OR Wednesday evening Work one Sunday evening shift per month for People Group Participation in at least one special event per month A minimum of 30 days' notice for requested time off Monthly schedules are finalized by the 15th of each month
Ideal Candidate :
Prior experience working with children in preschool, daycare, or babysitting roles is highly preferred Must be willing to sign a statement of faith that aligns with Restoration Church Certification in first aid and CPR (Childhood First Aid preferred) to ensure safety during all activities (can be provided by Restoration Church) Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members Dependable, and able to commit and follow through with scheduled shifts Ability to manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare Passion for early childhood education and a genuine desire to support children's growth and learning This position is ideal for energetic individuals eager to contribute to a nurturing and faith based environment.
