Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using proper manual handling techniques and patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts. Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature; document findings accurately within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Support medication administration processes under supervision, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality. Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral support. Collaborate with healthcare teams in various settings such as medical-surgical units, ICU, emergency departments, hospice care, and rehabilitation facilities to deliver comprehensive patient service. Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures like catheter care or phlebotomy to prevent infection and promote safety. Assist with patient transfers using appropriate methods and equipment while practicing safe lifting practices and heavy lifting protocols. Document medical records thoroughly using EMR/EHR systems; ensure accuracy in medical terminology and compliance with healthcare standards. Support patients with developmental disabilities or those requiring specialized assistance in assisted living or home & community care environments. Participate in ongoing training related to trauma center procedures, infectious disease care, pediatrics, geriatrics, or other specialty areas to enhance your expertise. Skills Proven experience working with diverse populations including seniors, children, or individuals with disabilities across settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, or home care environments. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks; ability to manage electronic health records efficiently. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) including CPR certification. Ability to perform basic medical procedures such as vital signs measurement, medication administration, catheter care, and phlebotomy when applicable. Excellent caregiver communication skills; capable of providing compassionate support while maintaining patient dignity and confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines. Experience working within trauma centers (Level I/II), urgent care clinics, or hospital medicine units is highly desirable. Knowledge of infection control practices including aseptic technique and safe handling of infectious diseases. Physical stamina for manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting or patient transfers; commitment to safe lifting practices at all times. Familiarity with working in fast-paced environments like emergency medicine or ICU settings requiring acute care experience. Ability to adapt quickly to different clinical environments including outpatient clinics or post-acute care facilities while maintaining high standards of patient service.
