Mon-Fri 10am-5pm, Sat-Sun 12pm-5pm About the Position We are seeking a compassionate, experienced caregiver to provide in-home personal care for a 74-year-old female client with total dependence on caregivers for all activities of daily living. The client resides in a private home with family and an existing care team, so this is a supportive, well-established care environment.
Client Care Needs Mobility:
Client is bedbound; requires full physical assistance with all transfers, turning, and repositioning (every 2 hours) using proper body mechanics Diagnosis background: History of stroke (CVA) with right-sided hemiplegia, bilateral hand contractures, bilateral foot drop, generalized muscle weakness, hypertension, and
GERD Cognition:
Mild-to-moderate short-term memory impairment following stroke; client is often nonverbal or communicates with yes/no responses — patience and a calm, reassuring approach are essential
Personal Care:
Full assistance required with bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, and hair care
Toileting/Continence:
Client has an indwelling (foley) catheter and is incontinent of bowel; requires incontinence brief changes and hygiene care every 2 hours and as needed
Feeding:
Total assistance with feeding; client is on a low-sodium, chopped/soft food diet and must be fed slowly in small bites with the head elevated due to aspiration risk
Medication:
Assistance with medication reminders/administration oversight (caregiver does not need to administer injections)
Housekeeping:
Light housekeeping duties related to client care area (linens, laundry) as needed Requirements Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Home Health Aide (HHA), or equivalent caregiving experience preferred Experience with bedbound/total-care clients, catheter care awareness, and safe transfer/positioning techniques Experience with stroke recovery or hemiplegic clients a plus Reliable transportation and ability to pass a background check CPR/First Aid certification preferred Compassionate, patient, and comfortable working with a client who has communication and memory challenges
