Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients across various care settings, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality. Provide specialized care for patients with conditions such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care techniques and behavioral health support. Maintain a safe environment by practicing aseptic techniques, infection control procedures, and safe lifting practices during patient handling. Document patient observations and care activities precisely within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems or Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care or phlebotomy when trained and authorized. Support discharge planning and patient transfer processes using appropriate methods to ensure safety. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in settings such as long-term care facilities, hospitals, assisted living communities, or home care environments. Engage in ongoing training related to senior care, pediatric care, trauma response (Level I & II trauma centers), ICU protocols, hospice care, or other specialized areas as required. Skills Proven experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, or behavioral health needs. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) certification. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safe lifting practices. Strong communication skills for caregiver-patient interactions and team collaboration. Experience working in acute care environments such as ICU or emergency medicine is advantageous. Competence in infection control practices and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a sterile environment. Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Ability to adapt quickly to different clinical settings including hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or home & community care environments. Demonstrated caregiving skills with experience in medical-surgical units or post-acute care settings.
