Overview
Nursing Assistant Medical-Nephrology
UnityPoint Health - St. Luke's
- Sioux City Downtown
Hours:
Full Time, 36 hours per week, 12 hour shifts
Schedule:
Days 7am-7pm, rotating weekends and holidays
Provides direct, hands-on patient support across nursing units under the supervision of licensed staff. Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, promoting safe ambulation and transport using appropriate equipment, accurately documenting care and treatments, monitoring patient safety and condition, and promptly communicating observations and changes to the care team.

Responsibilities
- Assists patients with ADL's according to hospital procedures, reports all abnormal findings and changes in patient condition to nurse in charge of patient.
- Assists with ambulation of patients and uses assist devices as appropriate to protect patient and staff member.
- Assists with restocking of rooms and maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Attends appropriate training programs, unit meetings and other mandatory meetings.
- Seeks to be involved in unit improvements, quality projects, and other enhancements to patient care.
- Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
- Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.
Qualifications
Education:
- Must be actively enrolled in high school or equivalent program .
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
- Previous hospital or nursing home experience as a Patient Care Tech and/or completion of training in nursing school that covers Patient Care Tech type duties and/or Must attend UPHSL Patient Care Tech training .
- Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
License(s)/Certification(s): - Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire required .
- Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
