Aug 10, 2026 Job Description West Branch Community Schools is accepting applications for the 2026-2027 school year for the anticipated opening: Health Office CNA/LPN
QUALIFICATIONS:
AA or BA. Previous experience in a health care area preferred. Must possess organizational skills including: Demonstrates initiative, exercises good judgment when unexpected problems arise. Utilizes time in an efficient manner. Workspace and appearance is orderly. Handles unusual situations effectively and calmly. Requests additional assistance as necessary. Must have knowledge of job expectations including: Understands job procedures: knows CPR first aid, special health techniques. Utilizes area resources when necessary. Learns new job duties quickly. Takes on extra work when a situation demands it. Is a self-starter who looks for duties to benefit the health office and students. Encourages and teaches student self-sufficiency and independence. Dependability Require minimum supervision. Regular attendance and punctuality. Accept responsibility for all duties assigned. Health office is covered at all times during the school day. Strong communication skills Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO
District Nurse, Building Principals and Superintendent
JOB GOAL
Work cooperatively with all building staff to assist the management of support services in order to enhance the morale of school district personnel, promote the overall efficiency of the school system, and maximize the educational opportunities available to each child.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Gives minor first aid to ill and injured. Medication Administration. Contacts the school nurse or designated person in case of major illness or serious injury. Contacts the parents of the ill or injured student in accordance with established health office policy and, if necessary, prepares the student to be transported. Confers with school nurse regarding student absences for health reasons. Records and communicates with teachers and other personnel regarding disposition of students sent to the health office. Charts student visits to health office with outcome in PowerSchool. Other duties as assigned.
