About us Idaho Eye and Laser Center is medical office that specializes in ophthalmology. We have 9 physicians and 4 locations to serve East Idaho. "The miracle of sight inspires us to serve others." Our work environment includes: Modern office setting Growth opportunities On-the-job training We are looking for an Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing ophthalmology services to patients, including medical-surgical treatments and examinations. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, a passion for helping others, and a strong understanding of the ophthalmology field. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to grow their career in the medical field.
Responsibilities:
Assist ophthalmologists in patient examinations and treatments. Perform basic diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, refraction, and tonometry. Assist with medical-surgical procedures such as cataract surgery and laser treatments. Educate patients on the importance of eye health and vision care. Maintain patient records and ensure that all documentation is accurate and up to date. Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, filing insurance claims, and managing inventory.
Qualifications:
  • Core skills in ophthalmology, medical office procedures, and anatomy
  • Premium skills in patient care, HIPAA compliance, and aseptic techniques
  • Familiar with EMR systems, medical billing, and front desk operations
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, physiology, and eye procedures This is a
FULL TIME
position (Mon. through Fri. ~7:30am to ~5:00pm). We CANNOT work around school/class schedules.
