Job Description

Location:
Barrington, IL Summary Enfermera is hiring a compassionate and reliable CNA to join our eldercare team in Barrington, IL . This position requires hands-on experience with Hoyer Lift transfers, suprapubic catheter care, and passive and active range-of-motion (ROM) exercises, providing total physical care to a patient with limited mobility. Prior hospice care experience is required, even though this specific role takes place in a home-care (private residence) setting rather than a hospice facility. This role begins as an independent contractor position with strong potential to convert to full-time employment for the right candidate. Upon successful completion of the probationary period, full-time team members become eligible for medical insurance benefits. Additionally, Enfermera offers specialized training for CNAs to become Cognitive Care Providers (CCPs) — a unique opportunity for professional growth while making a meaningful impact in patients' lives. Key Responsibilities Provide total physical care, including bathing, grooming, feeding, toileting, and positioning. Perform safe patient transfers using a Hoyer Lift. Provide suprapubic catheter care following proper hygiene and safety protocols. Assist with passive and active range-of-motion (ROM) exercises as directed by the care team. Support the patient with patience, dignity, and empathy. Monitor and record vital signs, report changes to supervising nurses. Accurately document patient care using electronic health records (EHR). Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment. Offer companionship and emotional support to the patient and family. Utilize digital resources, including Google Suite (Gmail, Drive, Forms) and other applications, for communication, scheduling, and report generation. Must possess a personal device suitable for required applications. Qualifications Hands-on experience with Hoyer Lift transfers, suprapubic catheter care, and passive/active range-of-motion exercises (required). Hospice care experience required , in addition to experience providing total physical care to patients with limited mobility (this role is home-care based, not a hospice facility placement). Previous experience in eldercare (preferred). Previous healthcare experience is preferred; critical care, long-term care, or assisted living experience highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and HIPAA regulations. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills. Basic computer proficiency (EHR systems, documentation tools, email). Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in Illinois. Active driver's license and ability to operate a vehicle. Availability for 40 hours per week, every other weekend. Background check and professional references required. What We Offer Competitive hourly rate of $25.00/hour , plus overtime pay for all hours worked beyond 40 per week.
