Home Helpers Home Care is Hiring a Weekday Lead Caregiver! Are you an experienced caregiver who enjoys taking initiative, building relationships, and helping clients get started on the right foot? Home Helpers is seeking a dependable and compassionate Weekday Lead Caregiver to play a critical role in supporting our clients and caregiving team throughout Kankakee, Iroquois, and Southern Will Counties . This is a unique leadership position that combines hands-on caregiving with mentorship, client onboarding, and care coordination responsibilities. You will be one of the first faces our new clients meet and will help establish the trust, routines, and care plans that set every case up for success. This position offers a guaranteed 40 hours per week , making it an excellent opportunity for an experienced caregiver looking for consistent, full-time hours while taking on additional leadership responsibilities. Why This Role Matters As the Weekday Lead Caregiver , you will serve as a trusted representative of Home Helpers. Your work ensures that new clients receive exceptional care from day one and that our caregiving team is properly trained and prepared to meet each client's unique needs. You will also provide coverage for open weekday shifts when needed, helping us maintain the reliable service and peace of mind our clients depend on. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working independently, communicating with the office, supporting other caregivers, and stepping in wherever needed to help ensure quality care. What You'll Do Lead New Client Starts Be the primary caregiver for new weekday client starts Establish routines and build trust with clients and their families Learn each client's care needs, preferences, and expectations Assess client needs and communicate important information to the office Help ensure care plans are followed and updated information is communicated appropriately Ensure a smooth transition from onboarding to ongoing care Train and Support Caregivers Work alongside regular caregivers during their first shift on new cases Demonstrate care routines, client preferences, and appropriate caregiving techniques Provide guidance and support to help caregivers succeed Serve as a resource and positive example for other caregivers Help reinforce Home Helpers' standards, expectations, and quality of care Provide Weekday Coverage When Needed Fill open shifts due to call-offs, vacations, schedule changes, or new client needs Help maintain continuity of care and reliable client coverage Be flexible and willing to adjust your schedule when staffing needs arise Assist the office in addressing urgent weekday staffing needs Represent Home Helpers Maintain a professional and compassionate presence in clients' homes Communicate effectively with clients, families, caregivers, and the office Lead by example and demonstrate dependability, professionalism, and excellent customer service Support and uphold Home Helpers' mission, values, and standards of care Schedule & Availability This is a full-time weekday leadership position with guaranteed 40 hours per week . Guaranteed 40 hours per week Primarily scheduled Monday through Friday 7a-7p Weekday schedule will vary based on client needs and staffing requirements Additional hours may be available based on client needs Must have flexibility to provide coverage when needed Must be dependable and available during scheduled working hours Must be willing to travel between client homes throughout the service area This is an active, hands-on caregiving position; guaranteed hours are based on working scheduled hours and assigned responsibilities Qualifications Previous professional caregiving experience required CNA certification welcomed but not required Previous experience training, mentoring, or leading other caregivers preferred Strong communication and leadership skills Ability to train and mentor other caregivers Ability to work independently and take initiative Reliable transportation Valid driver's license and auto insurance Ability to pass a background screening Must be dependable, professional, flexible, and adaptable Authorized to work in the United States Additional Requirements Must be willing to work with male and female clients Must be comfortable working around household pets, including dogs, cats, and birds Must be willing to serve clients throughout Kankakee, Iroquois, and Southern Will Counties Must be willing to work in homes where smoking may occur Must be comfortable providing hands-on personal care and assistance with activities of daily living Must support and uphold Home Helpers' mission, values, and standards of care Benefits Guaranteed 40 hours per week Full-time employment 401(k) Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Paid Leave Referral program Paid training and ongoing support Opportunities for advancement Leadership development opportunities How to Apply Interested candidates MUST complete an application through our website.
