This role is pivotal in providing top-notch patient care in our inpatient rehabilitation hospitals and through our extensive network of home health agencies. As a Nursing Assistant at Encompass Health, you will be an integral part of a team that helps patients regain independence and return to a fulfilling life. This position requires a commitment to caring for patients with various needs, ensuring their comfort, and supporting their recovery journey. Responsibilities Provide basic patient care under direction of nursing staff. Perform duties such as feed, bathe, dress, groom, or move patients, or change linens. Transfer or transport patients. Communicate with patients to ascertain feelings or need for assistance or social and emotional support. Monitor or report changes in health status and vital signs. Assist in the administration of medications and treatments, under the supervision of registered nurses. Required Skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Basic understanding of patient care and medical terminology. High level of compassion and empathy. Capability to work as part of a team and handle multiple tasks safely and effectively.
