Nursing Assistant Job Description Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our overnight healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, and teaching hospitals. This role is vital in ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients, assisting them with daily activities, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care. This position is for 12 hour shifts, 6:00pm- 6:30am. The PCNH prides itself on having the latest equipment, abundance of supplies, and a facility that is clean and well maintained which includes a state of the art air filtration system throughout the entire building. Duties Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating. Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure. Provide support in emergency situations by following established protocols for emergency medicine. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control procedures. Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health record systems such as eClinicalWorks. Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding care plans and needs. Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure comprehensive patient care in both hospital and long-term care settings. Assist in the mobility of patients by helping them move safely within the facility. Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to geriatrics and pediatric care. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a nursing assistant training program preferred. Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA). Familiarity with medical terminology and experience in patient care settings is preferred. Previous experience working with children or in geriatrics is a plus. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a compassionate demeanor toward patients. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing healthcare environments.
