POSITION SUMMARY
The OB Technician performs any combination of the following duties in the care of patients in the hospital, under direction of a Registered Nurse. Provides care for patients and family/significant others across the life span based on physical, psycho-social, educational, safety and related criteria appropriate to the age of patients served in the patient care unit. Responsibilities will include direct patient/family contact, departmental duties, material management, communication and departmental housekeeping. Follows and understands the standards and recommended practices according to department standards. The OB Technician is responsible for scrub duties assigned for cesarean section deliveries as well as occasional vaginal deliveries. Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Maintain American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • Must possess current cognitive knowledge in medical terminology and abbreviation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • One (1) year previous Direct Patient Care experience in a Healthcare setting.
