The ASC Nurse Aide Training Program is an opportunity that requires no previous experience, just a commitment to providing compassionate care to our residents. With free classroom and hands-on training, you can become a CNA in just a few weeks. After completion of the Nurse Aide training program and testing, you can find a home in any of ASC's 100 locations across Indiana, with additional pathways and opportunities available to those who want to advance their career in nursing. A few examples of how CNAs spend their workday include: Assisting with bathing, dressing and grooming tasks such as hair care, brushing teeth and shaving. Helping residents at mealtimes, including transporting them to the dining room and assisting them with eating and drinking. Repositioning and transferring residents from a bed to a wheelchair or from a wheelchair to the toilet. Obtaining resident vital signs, such as heart rate and blood pressure, and recording observations. Answering patient call lights and assisting in fulfilling requests. Training for a Career as a Certified Nurse Aide Training occurs over a 2 week period including 30 hours of classroom work and 45 hours of hands on clinical training. You will work with and be supported by ASC instructors, nurses and CNAs who have taken the same path. After completion of the CNA program and testing, additional pathways and opportunities are available to those who want to advance their career in nursing.
