- Merrillville, IN Assisting Hands Home Care Merrillville is now hiring Caregivers, Home Health Aides (HHA), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), Personal Care Aides (PCA), Direct Support Professionals (DSP), and Home Care Assistants to provide non-medical in-home care to seniors and adults in Crown Point, IN and surrounding Lake and Porter County communities .
- PRN and Part-Time positions available All shifts available
- days, evenings, overnights, weekends Paid orientation and ongoing caregiver training 24/7 support from a responsive office team Work close to home
- assignments in Crown Point and nearby areas One-on-one client care (no facility overload) Competitive hourly pay with performance recognition and growth opportunities Caregiver Job Responsibilities As a Caregiver / HHA / CNA / PCA / DSP, you will: Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) : bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, ambulation, and transfers Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support Perform light housekeeping , laundry, meal preparation, and home organization Assist with mobility support using walkers, gait belts, or wheelchairs Provide medication reminders (non-medical care only) Monitor and report changes in client condition Use a mobile app for scheduling, clock-in/clock-out, and care documentation Follow infection control, safety protocols, and agency policies Maintain client confidentiality and professionalism at all times Caregiver Requirements High school diploma or GED required Minimum 2 years experience preferred (Caregiver, HHA, CNA, PCA, DSP, or similar role) Reliable transportation , valid driver's license, and auto insurance Ability to pass a national background check CPR certification and TB test (or willingness to obtain before hire) Compassionate, dependable, patient, and professional attitude Comfortable using a smartphone/mobile apps for scheduling and communication
