Job Description

Job Overview Valyrian Place is now accepting applications for compassionate and dedicated Resident Assistants to join our team for night shift. In this role, you will provide essential support to residents in a long-term care or assisted living environment, ensuring their comfort, safety, and overall well-being. You will work closely with individuals who may have varying degrees of physical and cognitive challenges, including those with Alzheimer's and dementia. Your commitment to quality care will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents. Responsibilities Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a warm and welcoming environment. Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs and reporting any changes in condition to nursing staff. Administer medications as prescribed and ensure accurate documentation of medication administration. Assist with mobility needs using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Maintain a clean and safe living environment for all residents by following infection control protocols. Engage residents in social activities and encourage participation in programs designed for cognitive stimulation. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of resident information. Qualifications Experience in senior care settings such as assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology, documentation practices, and EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Cerner, eClinicalWorks) is advantageous. Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring memory care is a plus. Knowledge of basic life support techniques and vital signs monitoring is essential. A background in critical care, hospital medicine, or emergency medicine can be beneficial for this role. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being able to work independently when required. Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life. Ability to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving duties including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
