Job Description
Signature HealthCARE seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing to support clinical operations in our long-term care and post-acute facility. This role assists in managing nursing staff, overseeing care delivery, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The Assistant DON champions person-centered, high-quality care, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, and supports staff development. Ideal candidates bring strong clinical judgment, leadership skills, and a passion for serving seniors in a faith-based, mission-driven, and resident-centered environment focused on continuous improvement and professional growth. Responsibilities Support the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and directing all nursing services within the facility. Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs/LVNs, and CNAs, promoting a collaborative, resident-centered culture. Assist with hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, and ongoing coaching for nursing team members. Participate in staff scheduling and staffing mix decisions to ensure safe, appropriate coverage based on resident acuity and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular clinical rounds to monitor resident status, care delivery, and adherence to care plans and standards of practice. Support nurses with complex clinical situations, assessments, and interventions, promoting best practices and clinical excellence. Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record, in alignment with regulatory and organizational standards. Help oversee infection prevention and control practices, medication administration, and overall clinical safety initiatives. Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities, including data collection, analysis, and implementation of corrective actions. Assist with survey readiness and regulatory visits, including staff education on compliance, documentation, and resident rights. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive, person-centered care for residents and patients. Contribute to education, in-services, and ongoing competency development for nursing staff.
