You will mirror the new hires schedule for their initial three days. This position will float to all units and fill in where needed when you are not actively mirroring your new hire schedule. The Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) will provide patient/resident care as required under the direct supervision of the licensed nurse. The Certified Nurse Aide completes assigned tasks to ensure timely, efficient and safe patient/resident care. Communication and interactions with patients, residents, families and other health team members are essential components of this position.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs initial and ongoing data collection on all patients/residents under the direction of the Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse. Implements plan of care developed by the Registered Nurse based on patient/resident physical, psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs. Provides direct patient/resident care and reports on condition and changes to RN or LPN. Assures resident safety by identifying safety hazards and emergency situations and initiating corrective action as appropriate. Documents result of patient/resident care within established policies, procedures and scope of practice. Complies with all ministry policies and procedures Flexibility to float to all neighborhoods. Mirror new hires schedule for initial 3 days of orientation. Support new staff through teaching, role-modeling, and guidance with constructive feedback. Communicate progress and concerns with leadership. Demonstrate active engagement, that includes check-ins, shadowing, and completion of monthly training. Other duties as assigned.
