Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an energetic, creative, and compassionate Activity Director (CNA) to lead engaging and meaningful recreational programs within our senior living community. This enthusiastic professional will coordinate a variety of activities tailored to residents' interests and needs, fostering social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. As a vital team member, you will utilize your caregiving background and creativity to enhance residents' quality of life through innovative program development and personalized engagement. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on seniors' daily experiences while working in a vibrant, supportive environment. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and execute diverse recreational activities that promote socialization, cognitive function, and physical health for residents. Develop tailored programs that cater to residents with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, and other memory care needs. Coordinate resident events such as outings, themed activities, and special celebrations to foster community spirit. Build strong rapport with residents by understanding their preferences, histories, and individual needs to create personalized activity plans. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed, ensuring safety and comfort during participation. Manage schedules for activities and ensure timely communication with staff, residents, and families regarding upcoming events. Lead team efforts by supervising activity assistants and volunteers while maintaining a positive, motivating environment focused on resident engagement. Requirements Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with experience working in a nursing home setting. Activity Director certification preferred Experience in long term care or senior activities is preferred, but we are especially interested in finding someone with a big heart, a creative spirit, and a genuine love for seniors. Proven expertise in event planning, program development, and recreational therapy for seniors. Extensive knowledge of geriatrics, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and memory support strategies. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, staff, and community partners. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Point Click Care for scheduling, documentation, and resident record keeping. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs within long-term care or home & community care environments. Demonstrated ability to build resident rapport through compassionate caregiving and engaging activities. Leadership skills to coordinate staff efforts and foster teamwork within a senior living facility setting. Ability to manage multiple schedules efficiently while adapting to changing resident needs. Knowledge of aging issues counseling and experience working with geriatric patients preferred.
