Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Medication Technician, where your compassionate care and attention to detail will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients. In this vital role, you will provide hands-on assistance with daily living activities, administer medications accurately, and ensure the highest standards of patient safety and comfort. Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and transfer methods. Administer prescribed medications following all safety protocols and document medication administration accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner. Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to assess patient health status regularly. Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with medical documentation standards. Support patients with specialized needs including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities. Assist in patient transfers, repositioning, and manual handling using safe lifting practices to prevent injury. Collaborate effectively with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals in acute care environments such as ICU, emergency medicine, trauma centers (Level I & II), or medical-surgical units. Demonstrate proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like eClinicalWorks or Home & Community Care software for accurate record keeping. Provide compassionate caregiving in long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, hospice settings, or outpatient clinics. Skills Proven experience working with geriatric patients and familiarity with senior care practices. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques essential for safe patient care. Ability to perform basic life support (BLS), CPR, and handle emergency situations confidently. Experience administering medications and managing medical records within electronic systems such as Epic or Cerner. Skilled in patient transfer methods including the use of Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices; strong manual handling skills required. Excellent communication skills for caregiving roles involving patient service and caregiver communication strategies. Prior experience in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including trauma centers), outpatient clinics, home care or sub-acute settings is highly valued. Familiarity with infection control protocols especially in infectious disease care or hospice environments. Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams across various specialties including pediatrics, geriatrics, ICU, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or emergency medicine.
