What we're looking for The Registrar - Team Lead Collects patient demographic and insurance information for outpatient services. Collects insurance, co-pay, and deductibles at Point of Service. Quickly and efficiently expedites the registration process. Provides a positive first impression of the hospital to the public. This person will serve as the ER Team Lead Registrar, assisting ER registrars in the day-to-day functions of the ER, work daily reports, assist with new hire training, process improvements, and staffing. The person in this role will serve as the ER Registration Team Lead. How you'll contribute Ensure that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy. Distribute and explain forms, documents, and educational handouts to patients or family members. Meet with patient or patient's caregiver before or after admission to exchange necessary information and documentation. Provide explanation of process and addresses concerns and questions. Communicate with admitting physician's office, nursing unit staff, and/or other appropriate personnel regarding admission to exchange necessary information and determine placement. Verify insurance benefits and obtain precertification/authorization as necessary. Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refers to financial counselors for follow-up
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education :
High School Diploma or GED Preferred; Associate degree preferred.
Certifications:
Handle with Care certification required within 30 days of orientation and maintained annually. Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment Ability to work with minimal supervision Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Schedule:
Full Time:
