Lauve's Pediatric Day Health Care Direct Care/CNA Staff Job Description Summary:
Direct care staff shall work under the supervision of the registered nurse and shall be responsible for providing direct care to the children at Lauve's Pediatric Day Health Care.

Direct Care Staff shall include: Nursing assistants Certified nursing assistants Patient care technicians Medical assistants Emergency medical technicians (EMT) On-site therapists Individuals with training and experience in education, social services, or child care related fields.
Job Relationships:
Supervised by the DON, RN, and LPN. Must work congenially but efficiently with patients and other staff members.
Qualifications:
Each direct care staff person employed by the facility shall have at least the following qualifications and experience: One year documented employment experience in the care of infants or children or one year of experience in caring for a medically fragile child. Be able to demonstrate the necessary skills and competency to meet the direct care needs of the children to which they are assigned. Be currently registered with the Certified Nurse Aide (CAN) Registry or Direct Service Worker (DSW) Registry as a CNA or DSW in good standing and without restrictions. Hold a current certification in CPR. Be 18 years of age or older.
Responsibilities:
The primary function of the CNA is personal care of the patient. Adequately understand, follow, and complete assignments. Assist nurses and other staff with patient's activities of daily living including but not limited to feedings and diaper changes. Check vital signs on assigned patients. Assist with feeding, ambulation, and personal care of patients. Help keep a safe environment in patient areas. Notify RN immediately if an emergency in patient care arises. Responsible for knowing and following the policies and procedures of the PDHC. Assist with cleaning the facility as appropriate. Other miscellaneous duties/errands as deemed necessary by the Supervisor.
Pay:
$12.00 - $14.00 per hour
