The Registered Nurse OR Team Leader is responsible for assigned surgical service specialty lines such as, Ortho, ENT, GYN, etc. The assigned service lines may change based on the demand, growth, and/or complexity of the service line. Accountable for staff & case coordination, efficiency, product & equipment management, education & competency, preference cards, quality care, and core measures. Assists with implementing and evaluating nursing interventions by coordinating, delegating, and supervising the care provided by the healthcare team. Facilitates problem resolution and collaborates with the STHS Surgery Center Management team, Director of STHS Surgery Center OR, and other supervisory staff. The OR Team Leader is the direct contact to the physicians, their First Assistants, and Practitioners. Provides direct and indirect care of the perioperative patients.Minimum Qualifications:
Current LA RN Licensure with a minimum two (2) years of experience of the perioperative and intraoperative processes. Current BLS and ALS certifications through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off. Two years OR orthopedic specialty experience required and at least 1 year leadership experience (charge nurse or greater) preferred.Preferred Qualifications:
Specialty Team Leader experience preferred with an acute care organization. Management/Supervisory experience preferred. CNOR preferred. BSN preferred.Physical Demands:
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.Physical Effort required:
