CEDAR Health is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Medical Assistant or Nurse to join our team supporting patients experiencing various forms of disordered eating. As an important member of our clinical team, you will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare providers to promote safety, recovery, and overall well-being. Responsibilities Assist with patient intake, including obtaining vital signs, weights, and basic health assessments Support patients and families by providing education regarding treatment plans, appointments, and available resources Coordinate communication and resources between patients, families, and clinical staff Advocate for patient needs and contribute to a collaborative, multidisciplinary care team Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient records in accordance with healthcare standards and HIPAA requirements Perform administrative and front desk duties, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and triaging patient calls as appropriate Assist clinical staff with procedures as needed, including EKG testing, specimen collection, and other routine clinical tasks Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition to the appropriate clinical provider Follow established safety protocols and assist in maintaining a safe and supportive clinical environment Ensure compliance with applicable legal, ethical, and healthcare regulations Participate in team meetings, training, and quality improvement initiatives Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications Medical Assistant:
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent clinical training CMA, RMA, CCMA, or similar certification preferred/required based on applicable state and organizational requirements Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience preferred Experience in mental health, eating disorder treatment, pediatrics, primary care, or a related setting is preferred
Nurse:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program Current, unrestricted LPN/LVN or RN license in the applicable state Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience preferred Experience in mental health, eating disorder treatment, pediatrics, primary care, or a related setting is preferred Skills & Competencies Proficient in obtaining vital signs and performing basic patient assessments Comfortable with or willing to learn phlebotomy and specimen collection Experience with or willingness to learn EKG testing Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate, patient-centered approach Ability to work effectively with patients and families who may be experiencing mental health or emotional challenges Familiarity with EHR systems and general computer proficiency Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team Comfortable providing support in both in-person and telehealth settings Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Flexibility to accommodate patient and family scheduling needs Commitment to providing respectful, trauma-informed, and compassionate care
