Duties Assist residents with bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, and other personal care activities while maintaining their dignity and privacy. Ensure residents are safe during transfers and mobility assistance using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other patient transfer methods. Monitor and record vital signs, hydration levels, and skin condition to support ongoing health assessments. Follow infection control protocols, including aseptic technique and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Document care provided accurately in electronic health records (EHR systems) and medical documentation logs in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care plans and address individual needs. Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to safety practices for manual handling and heavy lifting, ensuring safe lifting practices at all times. Experience Candidates should possess prior experience working in long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or hospital settings such as ICU or emergency medicine units. Experience working with individuals with dementia or memory care needs is highly valued. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks is preferred. Candidates with certifications in CPR, basic life support (BLS), or phlebotomy will stand out. A background in geriatrics, behavioral health, or home & community care enhances your ability to deliver compassionate patient service. Prior exposure to infection control protocols, medical terminology related to nursing home or hospital environments, and experience working with geriatric patients are important assets for success in this role.
