Applicants must: Hold a current CNA certification or recognized HHA certification, as applicable to the position Have relevant caregiving and/or home-care experience Have experience caring for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease and/or other memory impairments Be able to provide professional references Have reliable transportation and the ability to travel to accepted client assignments Be dependable and able to report for accepted assignments as scheduled Have every-other-weekend and some holiday availability based on scheduling needs Communicate effectively with clients, families and the Family First Caregivers team Successfully complete applicable pre-employment screening and background-check requirements, including CORI where permitted and required by law Successfully complete verification of applicable credentials and professional references Employment offers may be contingent upon satisfactory completion of applicable screening and verification requirements consistent with federal and Massachusetts law.TYPICAL CAREGIVER RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities are determined by each client's individualized non-medical home care plan and may include: Companionship and meaningful engagement Assistance with activities of daily living Bathing, dressing and grooming assistance Toileting and incontinence care Meal preparation Hydration and nutrition reminders Medication reminders within the caregiver's permitted role Mobility and transfer assistance Fall-prevention and safety monitoring Dementia and memory-care support Light housekeeping related to the client's care Transportation, errands and appointments when assigned Observation and reporting of changes or concerns Communication with families and the Family First Caregivers care team Providing reassurance, patience and emotional support Caregivers are expected to perform only those services appropriate to their role, training, credentials and assigned care plan.FLEXIBLE ASSIGNMENTS
We understand that caregivers have different scheduling needs. Depending on current client needs, Family First Caregivers offers: 2-Hour Assignments 4-Hour Assignments 6-Hour Assignments 8-Hour Assignments 12-Hour Assignments This flexibility can provide opportunities for caregivers seeking additional hours, part-time schedules or longer shifts. Assignment availability is not guaranteed and varies according to client needs, location, caregiver qualifications and scheduling requirements.COMPENSATION & EMPLOYEE BENEFITS
