This position supports our young learners (ages 3-5) by promoting their health, safety, and well-being throughout the school day. Responsibilities include providing care for minor illnesses and injuries, supporting health and wellness initiatives, assisting with risk management, and administering or delegating medication administration in accordance with school policies. The position works under the supervision and guidance of a Registered Nurse (RN). Medical Responsibilities Assist in maintaining and monitoring student health records, including immunizations, medication administration, health care plans, and other required documentation for approximately 75 preschool-aged children. Promote the health, safety, and well-being of students through preventive care and daily health services. Provide care for minor illnesses, injuries, and medical concerns, responding appropriately to acute or emergency situations and consulting with the supervising RN, school administration, and parents/guardians as needed. Administer and/or oversee the administration of medications in accordance with school policies and state regulations. Support the implementation of federal, state, and local health regulations and school health policies. Adapt care to meet each child's physical, emotional, and developmental needs. Maintain the confidentiality of all student health records and information. Collaborate with the supervising Registered Nurse (RN), school administration, teachers, and families to support student health. Maintain inventory, organization, and security of health office supplies, equipment, and medications. Assist in creating a safe, healthy school environment through health promotion, injury prevention, and risk management. Requirements 1-2 years experience in a medical or school setting Experience in school nursing or in pediatrics preferred. Current CNA/Medical Assistant Certification EEC Certification (preferable) Proficient in managing medical documentation effectively. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and staff. Ability to work independently while being part of a collaborative team environment.
