Salary Information:
The salary range is $41,875.53-$77,066.55 per the Faculty CBA Salary Scale . Aides will be hired and employed in the highest category to which they are entitled in accordance with the years of applicable experience provided.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Nursery School/Kindergarten Aide (Assistant Teacher) is key to enriching the educational experience for young children by helping our certified Classroom Head teachers create a supportive, secure, and engaging learning environment. This role is a vital part of the classroom team, assisting with activities, ensuring safe play, and providing the individual attention that helps each child grow and thrive. Success in this position requires a passion for child development and strong collaboration with both teachers and parents to help achieve our children's educational goals, and to support the core values, vision, and mission of Rochambeau.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in the delivery of age-appropriate activities and lesson plans. Assist in implementing weekly lesson plans, aiming for a 90% satisfaction rate from teachers, by attending monthly training sessions on educational content delivery within the first three months. Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment. Conduct daily safety and organization checks to maintain a hazard-free classroom, participating in quarterly safety workshops, starting immediately upon employment. Supervise children during both indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety. Provide vigilant supervision to maintain an incident-free record during all activities, starting from the first day of employment. Provide individualized attention to support children's developmental needs. Assist with meals and snacks, aiding children during these times. Help children with meals and snacks, ensuring adherence to nutritional guidelines and cleanliness. Collaborate with teachers and parents to enhance children's educational experiences. Engage in monthly meetings with teachers and quarterly discussions with parents. Keep detailed records of children's daily activities, including diaper changes and naps. Maintain a professional manner and appearance and demonstrate behavior that is conscientious and responsible when interacting with students, parents, community agencies, and colleagues. Perform related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position as assigned by the Primary School Director and/or his delegates.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required High school diploma or international U.S. equivalent Native-like French fluency and working English proficiency (spoken and written) Certification as a MSDE Child Care Teacher (90 hours) or similar credentials Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within the first 14 days) 2+ years of experience working in a preschool or childcare setting Effective communication and interpersonal skills Teamwork capabilities, patience, and a strong affinity for working with children Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of information Regular, predictable, and reliable attendance at work Computer and technological literacy Three Professional References (name, position, contact number and email) listed on your CV/resume. Preferred Associate degree or higher in early childhood education or related field Completion of the MSDE 45-hour Infants and Toddlers course Fluent bilingual English and French language proficiency
OFFICE OF CHILD CARE COMPLIANCE - TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Adhere to all state licensing requirements, including background checks and health assessments. Complete mandatory health and safety training within 45 days of employment. Annually fulfill a minimum of 12 hours of professional development training Document all completed training and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements. New hires lacking 90 hours of preservice training must complete an orientation session within 3 months of hire, addressing child supervision, professional conduct, parent interaction, child supervision, child care management. Accurately maintain all required training and compliance records annually.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position operates within a school environment. The role requires prolonged periods of movement throughout the school, including, walking, bending, sitting, and standing. The position requires use of computers and office equipment, and the occasional ability to lift, carry, or move students or equipment up to 40 pounds.
