Job Description
First Assist ed Nurse (First Assist RN)
The role of RN first assistant to the surgeon requires the performance of a combination of nursing and medical functions. The RN first assistant directly assists the surgeon by controlling bleeding, providing wound exposure, suturing and other surgical tasks. First Assist nurses typically work in the hospital setting.
Education/Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN): 4-Year Education Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN): 2-Year Education You must earn an ADN or BSN degree and pass the NCLEX to apply for a license as a RN. RN's can only work with an active state license.
•(2) 13 week assignments5-8 hour shift from 11-1930 or 4x10-hour shift from 0900-1930.Call is a 1-2 weekends either Saturday or Sunday from 7a-7a3-4 weekdays call starting at end of shiftOB coverage a mustHoliday call when needed
