Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using safe lifting practices and assistive devices like Hoyer lifts. Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; document findings accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper handling and adherence to HIPAA and aseptic techniques. Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral health support. Collaborate with nursing staff to implement care plans tailored to each patient's needs, including those in long-term care facilities or hospice settings. Maintain a clean and safe environment by following infection control protocols and proper manual handling procedures. Document patient interactions thoroughly in medical records while respecting patient confidentiality and privacy regulations. Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program. Tuberculosis and medical screening complete and up to date Certification in CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or dementia care are a plus. Experience working with geriatric patients or in long-term care, assisted living, or nursing home settings preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and basic anatomy relevant to patient care. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; experience with medical documentation is highly desirable.
