Responsibilities Provide compassionate, high-quality, one-on-one care to a pediatric patient in the home setting. Assist the patient with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene. Monitor and report changes in the patient's physical, emotional, or behavioral condition to the supervising nurse or healthcare provider. Measure and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, as directed. Assist with feeding, hydration, and meal preparation according to the patient's care plan and dietary needs. Help with safe transfers, positioning, mobility, and range-of-motion exercises to promote comfort and prevent injury. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for the patient. Observe and follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times. Provide companionship and emotional support while promoting the patient's dignity, comfort, and well-being. Encourage age-appropriate activities and support the child's developmental and social needs when appropriate. Document care provided and accurately report observations according to agency policies and procedures. Communicate effectively with the patient's family, caregivers, and members of the healthcare team. Follow the individualized plan of care and perform duties within the CNA scope of practice. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA regulations and organizational policies. Respond appropriately to emergencies and promptly notify the supervising nurse of any concerns or significant changes in the patient's condition. Attend required trainings, staff meetings, and maintain current CNA certification and any other required credentials. Qualifications Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing. Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain. Pediatric or home health experience preferred, but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Compassionate, dependable, and patient-centered. Ability to assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and safely transfer or reposition patients. Ability to follow a care plan and report changes in the patient's condition. Reliable transportation to the patient's home. Ability to pass a background check and meet all pre-employment requirements.
