In this vital role, you will provide personalized patient care, assist with daily activities, and support medical teams in delivering exceptional geriatric care. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a warm, safe, and supportive environment for seniors in various care settings. Duties Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices. Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, ensuring accurate medical documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper handling and adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Provide specialized dementia and Alzheimer's care, utilizing memory care techniques to promote comfort and safety for residents with cognitive impairments. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver holistic patient care in diverse environments such as long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, nursing homes, hospitals—including ICU and Level I Trauma Centers—and home & community care settings. Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy (blood draws), and aseptic techniques during wound care or other interventions. Support patients with complex needs including behavioral health challenges, infectious disease precautions, post-acute recovery, or hospice care. Use EMR systems like eClinicalWorks or CareCloud to document patient information accurately and efficiently. Engage with patients respectfully to foster trust and provide emotional support during recovery or ongoing care. Qualifications Proven experience working with older adults in settings such as long-term care facilities, nursing homes, assisted living communities, or hospitals. Knowledge of geriatrics principles including dementia care, memory support strategies, and behavioral health management. Familiarity with medical terminology related to senior care and acute/chronic conditions common in geriatric populations. Experience with medical procedures such as medication administration, catheter care, phlebotomy, vital signs monitoring, and infection control practices including aseptic technique. Ability to operate medical equipment like Hoyer lifts and work effectively within EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations ensuring patient confidentiality at all times. Excellent caregiving skills combined with physical stamina to assist residents with mobility needs using assistive devices or lifts. Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred; relevant state-specific certifications required where applicable.
