Job Description
Spurwink is looking for a Direct Support Professional - Development Trainer to join our team in Lewiston! The CNA/DT provides supervision, mentoring, and coaching for the DSP's and CNA's on their shifts. This position provides oversight to ensure that active treatment and self-care activities and other household tasks occur as prescribed by the PCP. A successful candidate must be a CNA. The DT-CNA Coordinator's primary focus is the CNA schedule. The DT-CNA Coordinator would work with DTC-HR to cover time off requests or leaves of absence.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements :
High school diploma or G.E.D. Must complete CDS curriculum within the first six months of employment. It is required that they will participate in designated in-service training programs and ongoing training is required. Basic computer / word processing skills are required. Previous experience working with developmentally disabled adults preferred. Must be a CNA with 30 credit hours toward an Associates or Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 40 hours in-service training; or CNA and a 1-year certificate and 40 hours in-service training; or CNA and Associates Degree in a related field; or CNA and 4 years full-time related experience with 160 hours of in-service training, at least 40 of which were in the last year and High School Diploma. All applicants must maintain a current driver's license and a clean driving record as outlined in Spurwink's Driving policy.Minimum Physical Requirements :
Must be able to go up and downstairs, bend, lift, push, and pull. Provide physical restraints if needed, be able to use mechanical lifts, and wheelchair tie-downs in vans if applicable.Competitive Benefits Package:
