To provide quality patient care under the supervision of a licensed professional nurse. To assure patient safety and satisfaction during the patient's hospital stay.
Essential Duties :
This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Associates may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position. Interacts appropriately with patient to obtain vital signs. Demonstrates knowledge of normal vital sign parameters and is alert to variances from normal patient appearances. Promptly reports pertinent findings to licensed professional nurse. Includes patient and family input as appropriate while providing assistance with ADL and other basic care needs. Assures patient's privacy and comfort while providing care. Answers call lights promptly, follow through with patient needs. Washes hands when entering and leaving patient's room and demonstrates proper infection control measures at all times. Follows universal precautions. Maintain patient safety. Reports unsafe or hazardous conditions promptly. Uses equipment correctly including proper cleaning and storage. Good understanding of emergency procedures at ICMH, i.e. Code Red, Code Blue. Monitors patient's needs with regular rounds. Able to establish good rapport with patients. Maintains professional demeanor and appearance. Maintains clinical competency by keeping BLS current and regular attendance at hospital educational offerings. Job Requirements General Requirements Current BLS certification Current State Certification as CNA Work Experience Minimum of one year Basic CNA patient care CNA experience in hospital setting preferred Education High School Diploma or GED CNA course completion Specialized Knowledge and Skills Ability to use equipment necessary to provide basic patient care.
