The Nurse of Record for North and Tartan's Nursing Assistant Course is responsible for the certification of students according to the Minnesota Department of Health and the federal guidelines for the Nursing Assistant curriculum. They are responsible for teaching the skills and competencies in the Nursing Assistant curriculum and training the licensed teachers. The Nurse will be team teaching with a licensed teacher at North and Tartan one day a week and preparing curriculum for classes at both schools. In addition, they will be working on MDH record compliance for audits. This work will be approximately 10 hours per week. Students need at least 75 hours of instruction, including 16 hours of direct supervision of practical skills demonstrated for the Nurse of Record. Students will demonstrate the practical skills on Wednesdays when the Nurse is teaching with the licensed teacher. Required Qualifications Minnesota RN with a minimum of two years of licensed nursing experience in the US as evidenced by the Minnesota Board of Nursing website. At least one year in the provision of long-term care facility services in the US as evidenced by licensed nursing experience resume. Examples of long-term care facility services are employment in a nursing home or assisted living facility. Home health experience providing care in private homes only is not included. Total licensed nursing experience can be as a LPN but must currently be a RN. Licensed nursing experience does not include nurse aide experience. Train the Trainer certificate if required by chosen curriculum as identified in Minnesota-Approved Training Curricula. Preferred Qualifications MN teaching License
