In this vital role, you will provide essential direct patient care, support medical staff, and ensure the comfort and safety of our diverse patient population. Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity. Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support medical procedures by preparing patients, maintaining aseptic techniques, and assisting with tasks such as catheter care or phlebotomy when trained. Ensure patient safety through proper manual handling techniques and safe lifting practices, including the use of equipment like Hoyer lifts. Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations while managing medical documentation and electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems). Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care plans and address individual needs. Assist with patient transfer methods using appropriate techniques to prevent injury or discomfort. Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program. Experience working in diverse healthcare settings such as hospitals, long-term care facilities, or assisted living communities. Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and basic life support (BLS). Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks is preferred. Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or complex health conditions such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Strong caregiving skills combined with excellent communication abilities to engage with patients across all age groups including pediatrics and geriatrics.
