Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality, person-centered care to individuals across various care settings, including long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, hospitals, and home care environments. Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts and transfer devices. Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature, ensuring accurate medical documentation within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems. Support medication administration under supervision, following strict aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral health support. Assist with complex medical procedures such as catheter care, wound dressing changes, phlebotomy (blood draws), and infection control practices in acute or sub-acute care settings. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in hospital medicine, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), emergency medicine, or pediatric units to deliver comprehensive patient service. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and utilizing equipment like Hoyer lifts safely during patient transfers. Support patients in home & community care environments by providing compassionate caregiving tailored to individual needs across geriatrics, pediatrics, or behavioral health populations. Qualifications Valid CNA certification or equivalent licensure required; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred. Experience working in medical-surgical units, ICU, emergency departments, or long-term care facilities is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and patient safety standards including HIPAA compliance. Prior experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks is a plus. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges; experience in dementia or Alzheimer's care is advantageous. Strong communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to patient care; ability to work well under pressure in fast-paced environments like Level I Trauma Centers or urgent care clinics. Physical stamina for standing and walking for extended periods; capability to assist with patient transfers using mechanical lifts or Hoyer lifts safely.
