Job Description
3p-11p $2.00 shift differential. $5.00 shift differential on weekends. Every other weekend required Maple Lawn Nursing Home is looking for a passionate Certified Nursing Assistant for our day shift position. Day shift positions do not come along very often! This is 3p-11p with plenty of overtime opportunities! We offer Aetna insurance after 60 days and have a 3% matching retirement for employees after 1 year. Responsibilities Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating. Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse. Provide basic care for patients with special needs, including those with developmental disabilities or dementia. Aid in mobility assistance using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Maintain patient hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with infection control protocols. Document patient care activities accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Communicate effectively with healthcare team members regarding patient conditions and changes. Support patients during medical procedures and examinations as needed. Participate in training programs to enhance caregiving skills and knowledge of medical terminology. Skills The ideal candidate should possess the following skills: Experience with Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks EMR systems. Critical care experience or familiarity with ICU settings. Knowledge of phlebotomy techniques and medication administration protocols. Familiarity with long-term care, assisted living, nursing home environments, or hospice care practices. Understanding of geriatrics, pediatrics, and senior care principles. Proficiency in basic life support (BLS) techniques and vital signs monitoring. Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology as well as medical documentation practices. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as emergency medicine or trauma centers (Level I & II). Experience working with individuals with Alzheimer's disease or other memory-related conditions is advantageous. Competence in providing care for patients with behavioral health needs or infectious diseases.
