CNA

Support Care position accountable for taking vital signs, assisting with care plan activities, observing and reporting patient conditions and behaviors, and participating in rehabilitation, ambulation, and transfers. Communicates with doctors, patients, and families, and educates patients on care. May provide transport to offsite appointments when necessary. Jobs in this family provide hands-on, direct care to clients including observations, treatment, and monitoring.

The functions within this job family will vary by level, but may include the following: Develop and/or implement habilitation or treatment plans. Teach or assist in developing client skills related to self-help, play, education, and socialization. Assist and/or provide basic health care for clients, such as checking vital signs and height/weight. The work assigned to positions in this series ranges from basic direct support care to the administrative management of a treatment unit. Typically requires a High School Diploma or high school equivalency, and 0-1 years of experience, may require Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) designation or Direct Care Training as required by the hiring agency.
