Step into a crucial role supporting behavioral health care as a Certified Nursing Assistant on a 26-week assignment in a secure psychiatric hospital setting. This contract position involves working with patients experiencing mental health challenges, providing direct assistance, and helping to maintain a therapeutic environment.

Schedule:

40 hours per week Day (7:00 AM 3:00 PM), Evening (3:00 PM 11:00 PM), and Night (11:00 PM 7:00 AM) shifts available Overtime may be offered based on facility need

Qualifications:

Active CNA certification required At least 1-2 years of previous contract work experience Must meet one of the following criteria: A minimum of 2 years direct experience in mental health settings (such as state hospitals or psychiatric facilities) If your background is in geriatric care (long-term care, hospice, or nursing homes), at least 5 years experience in such settings For candidates from emergency or urgent care settings, at least 4 years of relevant experience

Primary Responsibilities:

Assist patients with daily living activities including hygiene, grooming, dressing, and meals Observe and document patient behaviors, moods, and safety issues Support therapeutic groups and structured activities under nursing guidance Uphold safety standards following behavioral health protocols Aid with admissions, discharges, and transfers of patients Communicate patient updates with the interdisciplinary care team Adhere strictly to confidentiality, infection control, and facility safety policies
