  • ( 26142274 ) The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a Certified Nurse Aide career opportunity at the Montana Veterans Home in Columbia Falls, MT.
The Montana Veterans' Home (MVH), located in Columbia Falls, Montana, is a Medicare/Medicaid and Veterans Administration-certified facility with 105 intermediate/skilled-care beds and 12 domiciliary beds. The nursing facility includes a 15-bed Dementia Care unit. MVH has been providing services to Veterans since 1896. The Montana Veterans' Home is located next to the Flathead River, just minutes away from Glacier National Park. A large pavilion, walking paths, and protected courtyards provide ample opportunities for outdoor access. The facility offers individual and group activities, spiritual services, support group services, and social services. The skilled and rehabilitative services include physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and dietitian services. Why Join DPHHS? Job Overview:
This position is a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA). The CNA assists residents with activities of daily living.
Other responsibilities include:
1) Measuring and recording residents' vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse, and respiratory rate; 2) Assisting residents with daily living activities such as eating, personal hygiene, and dressing; and 3) Providing compassionate support to residents/family members and encouraging open communication.

Schedule:
Full Time, 40 hours per week.
Day Shifts:
Tuesday-Saturday, 6:00 am
  • 2:30 pm; Sunday-Thursday, 6:00 am
  • 2:30 pm; Friday
  • Tuesday, 6:00 am
  • 2:30 pm
Evening Shifts:
Tuesday
  • Saturday, 2:00 pm
  • 10:30 pm; Tuesday
  • Saturday, 2:00 pm

Night Shifts:

  • Wednesday, 10:00 pm

  • 6:30 am LPN and CNA shift differential shall be paid as follows: Evening Shift $1.

Physical and Environmental Demands:
Work is of medium demand and involves lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, stooping, twisting, and extensive standing.

  • Reach forward and below frequently. Must have the ability to transfer residents safely. Must be able to effectively communicate with patients. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens. May have to work with uncooperative residents at times. Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience):
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Montana CNA certification.
  • Two years of CNA experience.
  • Other equivalent combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
