Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper manual handling techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and EMR platforms. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality during documentation. Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, utilizing memory care techniques and engaging them in appropriate activities to promote mental well-being. Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, wound dressing changes, phlebotomy (blood draws), and aseptic techniques to prevent infection. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in acute care settings like ICU or Level I Trauma Centers, contributing to patient recovery plans in medical-surgical or emergency medicine environments. Facilitate safe patient transfers using appropriate transfer methods and equipment while practicing safe lifting practices and heavy lifting protocols. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient service and optimal care outcomes. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation within EMR/EHR systems while complying with all regulatory standards including HIPAA. Experience Prior experience working in diverse healthcare settings such as hospitals, long-term care facilities, hospice or palliative care units, outpatient clinics, or home health environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks for medical documentation and patient records management. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays, including geriatrics or pediatrics populations. Knowledge of medical terminology related to acute care, geriatrics, trauma centers, ICU procedures, infectious disease care, and post-acute care is advantageous. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR is required; additional certifications such as Phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus. Familiarity with patient transfer methods and safe handling practices in various clinical environments enhances your ability to deliver exceptional patient care. Strong caregiver communication skills combined with a thorough understanding of physiology and anatomy knowledge support effective teamwork and patient engagement.
