Job Description

Cone Health is hiring a Full Time Nurse Tech Float to support patient care across our system-wide healthcare facilities. In this role, you will provide direct patient care, assist with daily living activities, obtain vital signs, support nursing staff with procedures, and ensure a safe, compassionate environment. You will float to multiple units, gaining broad clinical experience while collaborating with diverse care teams. Responsibilities Provide direct basic patient care including hygiene, feeding, mobility assistance, and comfort measures under the supervision of licensed nursing staff Accurately obtain, document, and report vital signs, intake and output, blood glucose, and other assigned patient data using the EMRSupport safe patient mobility, including transfers, ambulation, and use of assistive devices, following fall prevention and safety protocols Float system-wide to multiple units and facilities, adapting quickly to varied patient populations, workflows, and team needs Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring rooms and equipment are prepared and patients are oriented to their environment Perform delegated clinical tasks such as specimen collection, EKGs, and point-of-care testing in accordance with competency and policy Monitor patients for changes in condition, promptly communicating concerns and unusual findings to the RN or provider Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment, following infection prevention and control standards Provide compassionate, culturally sensitive, and respectful interactions with patients, families, and visitors aligned with Cone Health's mission and values Collaborate closely with nurses, providers, and ancillary staff to support efficient patient flow and high-quality, patient-centered care Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain competencies and support growth within Cone Health Support documentation and restocking of supplies and equipment, reporting any malfunctions or safety hazards immediately Required Skills Patient vital signs measurement Basic patient care and ADL support Safe patient transport and positioning Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation Aseptic and infection control techniques Phlebotomy and specimen collection EKG acquisition Clinical equipment operation and troubleshooting CPR and basic life support Time management and multitasking Interdisciplinary team communication Customer service in clinical settings De-escalation and challenging patient interaction management HIPAA and patient confidentiality compliance
