Job Description

Cone Health seeks a compassionate Nurse Technician and Sitter to support nursing staff in delivering safe, high-quality patient care. In this role, you will provide direct bedside assistance, including vital signs monitoring, hygiene, mobility support, and continuous 1:1 observation to ensure patient safety and prevent falls or self-harm. You will accurately document in electronic health records, promptly report changes in patient condition, and follow strict infection control and safety protocols. Responsibilities Monitor and document patients' vital signs and condition changes Provide basic bedside care, including hygiene, nutrition, and mobility assistance Serve as a 1:1 sitter ensuring patient safety and fall prevention Promptly report clinical and behavioral changes to the nursing team Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EHR systems Follow infection control, safety, and confidentiality protocols Assist nursing staff with procedures and transport as directed Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team Required Skills Vital signs monitoring Patient observation Basic patient care (ADLs) Electronic health records (EHR) documentation Infection control practices CPR/BLSSafe patient transfer and mobility Fall risk assessment Use of medical equipment (BP cuffs, pulse oximeter, thermometers) De-escalation and behavioral management
