Job description Psychiatric Physician Assistants/Nurse Practitioners-are you ready for a change? Don't miss this terrific opportunity to work with an underserved patient population in one of the beautiful communities in the U.S! Appalachian Mountain Health ("AMH"), a Federally Qualified Health Center network based in Asheville, NC, is hiring a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our exceptional clinical team at our Leicester location in delivering quality-focused psychiatric primary care services for adult (18+) patients. AMH provides comprehensive, accessible, patient-centered primary care to all, including low-income, medically underserved and uninsured populations, at six locations throughout Western North Carolina. Our Psychiatric NP/PAs work closely with physicians, other advanced practitioners, behavioral health clinicians, and clinical and administrative support staff in a team-based approach to patient care.
Requirements:
Required qualifications include: Physician Assistant /Nurse Practitioner degree from an accredited institution. Current North Carolina PA-C or NP license. Psychiatric
CAQ. CPR
certification. 2+ years of practice experience with an adult population in a public health setting, preferably in a rural or under-served area. Strong commitment to practicing in a community health setting. Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as critical thinking skills, the ability to handle stressful situations and the capacity to function independently. High degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision-making to achieve AMH's mission.
