JOB RELATIONSHIPS
Clinical Director and/or Charge Nurse/Staff Nurse
DEFINITION OF POSITION
The Certified Nurse Aide II is responsible for administering direct patient care in a courteous, caring manner, and performing any other duties deemed necessary to ensure optimal patient care, under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse. The Certified Nurse Aide II interacts with unit staff members, patients, patient's family members, and other departments to ensure the comfort and safety for all patients on the unit. The Certified Nurse Aide II performs skills approved by the North Carolina Board Of Nursing and as delegated by the licensed nurse on a client-by-client basis. The following criteria must be met before delegation of any task: Task is performed frequently in the daily care of a client or group of clients Task is performed according to an established sequence of steps Task may be performed with a predictable outcome Task does not involve on-going assessment, interpretation or decision-making that cannot be logically separated from the task itself.
QUALIFICATIONS
Professional High school education or equivalent. Maintains listing with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Division of Health Service Regulation, Healthcare Personnel Registry as a Nurse Aide I. Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification. Maintains listing with the North Carolina Board of Nursing as a Nurse Aide II
