House Supervisor and/or Team Leader/Staff Nurse

DEFINITION OF POSITION

The patient observer is a member of the healthcare team. The observer is responsible for monitoring one or more assigned patients on a designated unit for a specific time period. The role of the observer is to monitor the patient for safety. The observer may be delegated patient care tasks within his/her scope of practice in addition to monitoring the patient while under the supervision of the nurse.

QUALIFICATIONS

Professional High school education or equivalent. Maintains listing with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Division of Health Service Regulation, Healthcare Personnel Registry as a Nurse Aide I. Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
