Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort. Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately and report any abnormalities promptly. Support medical procedures by preparing patients and assisting with tasks such as catheter care, wound care, and medication administration under supervision. Document patient information meticulously using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards. Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Use safe manual handling techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts to transfer patients safely while preventing injury. Respond swiftly to patient calls or emergencies using basic life support (BLS) skills and assist in emergency situations as needed. Qualifications Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing. Prior experience working with geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, or in memory care settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and aseptic techniques required for safe patient care. Experience working within EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages and backgrounds while maintaining compassion and professionalism. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and follow safe lifting practices during patient transfers.
