Take and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols. Support medication administration under supervision, following HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality and medical documentation standards. Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, implementing memory care techniques to ensure safety and comfort. Assist with patient transfers using appropriate transfer methods and manual handling techniques while ensuring safety for both patients and staff. Document patient care activities thoroughly in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, maintaining accurate medical records. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in various settings like ICU, emergency medicine, hospice care, or pediatric units to deliver comprehensive patient service. Qualifications Valid CNA certification with current licensure in the state of employment. Experience working in diverse healthcare environments including long-term care facilities, hospitals (Level I Trauma Center experience preferred), or outpatient clinics. Knowledge of medical terminology, aseptic technique, and basic life support (CPR) certification required. Prior experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring dementia or memory care. Strong communication skills for caregiver interaction and patient support; compassionate approach essential. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks involving patient transfer methods. Familiarity with infection control procedures and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
