Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, ensuring timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems. Support medication administration under supervision, adhering strictly to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques to maintain patient confidentiality and safety. Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, employing memory care techniques to promote comfort and orientation. Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy preparation, and basic life support (BLS) activities in compliance with infection control protocols. Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams in various environments like long-term care facilities, hospitals—including ICU, trauma centers, pediatric units—and outpatient clinics. Use manual handling skills to safely lift or transfer patients using equipment like Hoyer lifts while practicing safe lifting practices to prevent injury. Experience Prior experience working as a Certified Nursing Assistant or in a similar caregiving role within long-term care facilities, hospitals, or home care environments. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and patient service best practices. Experience utilizing EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation. Familiarity with specialized care areas including geriatrics, pediatrics, critical care (ICU), emergency medicine, hospice care, or post-acute settings is highly valued. Proven ability to work with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities while maintaining patient confidentiality per HIPAA standards. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while adhering to safe handling practices during patient transfers or manual handling tasks. Certification in CPR/BLS is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are advantageous.
